Stuck In PlaceA Poem by Peter CastelI wrote this sonnet recently because I’m going through something
You left, claiming that this was for the best.
So please, someone tell me why I feel worse. You have put our relationship to rest, But I still feel my heart’s about to burst. I can see that you’re happy and thriving. I witness that you’re truly living life While I’m having trouble just surviving, Distraught because I lost my future wife. I hate how I love you so much, I cry. I yell internally for you to come back. I continue asking the question: “Why?” “Why did she leave me and throw me off track?” I look upon you and I get jealous Because you’ve moved on. My pleas are pointless © 2021 Peter CastelReviews
