The Lighter Side of Bliss

The Lighter Side of Bliss

A Poem by Paul Seaman
"

a spoken word piece

"

Walking down a street divine

shedding light on another time

remembering my life

as if it were wine

aging to a taste sublime.

I see a headlight in my heart

Shining warmth on all I meet

driving down the road

It's sweet-

I glow, I tremble with the desire to feed

Everyone with my strength and deeds.

It's not a thought

It's not a plan

I'm not looking

Out for me -

I'm seeking to catch up

to who

I used to be.

IN another life

IN another place

I knew this strength

I won the race

the laurels were mine

and the girls too,

but now

I just wish to bring -

you too.

Life is alone

when your Number One

everyone seeking to meet - beat

what you've done

if you fall and crash

its all the best

for none should win

all the tests.

My heart it vibrates with pleasure and warmth

I seek to fill my body with this torch

To stroke the fires of creations might

To meet myself where I am supposed to be

Fighting for others, life and liberty.

The path is clear

The obstacles removed

The people I meet

All wish to be tools

To help me greet my goals

And destiny

To cheer the growth

Selflessness brings.

You see

I am catching up to me

Starting to become

Whom I am meant to be

Living the life

for which I was taught

walking the path my soul-hood had brought.

Clearly

Sight is the key

To master the reigns of victory

Endurance is necessary for the tests

And Passion will fuel you

for all the rest.

As Judgment, Anger, Hatred fall

Beauty and Purpose replace them all

A selfless desire to meet the need

My Godhood, and Christ have set for me.

I touch the spirit in the aire

I vibrate with love

And effortless care

I grasp the sword

God gave to me

And slay all the dragons

of lovelessness and fear.

I don't pretend this gift is mine

It is on loan from the Angles for a time

To see if I can integrate it

to me

to set an example of what can be

if you set your sights on purity.

I run, I chase, I'm off to meet

The person who helped me write this piece

My better half

My soul unbound

to relish the new life

Our union has found

There is no beginning or end

to this race

All of us run at our own pace

We set our sight on what we want won

And lay down our lives

To get it done.

So set your sight on a mighty goal

include your salvation in that role

fight for everything you believe

but don't forget -

to remember

that most stringent test -

what is written in your heart and breast

will determine where your soul will rest

its like i had a dip on your life mr. Paul... the rhyming helps for an easy flow... i enjoyed this piece...

what is written in your heart and breast
will determine where your soul will rest
~ what lies there is a whisper that must listen... for they will guide every journey we choose to live...

great reflection!

last few lines strike home
what is written in us will determine our final resting place-so true
admitting that our gifts are on loan from angels-to me they will be passed on to others
thank you so for sharing

thankUMyou
Not bad. I think there are some parts which seem a little out of place compared to the rest of the piece, but overall, you have a clear message and you've managed to get it across very well. Well done.

thanks, i wander off the plantation, but not far...
I have read this one out loud, and it's a very good spoken word piece, you should have posted it as such. Nice read on finding inner peace and your true intentions.
