WerewolfA Poem by PAPPACASSA poem about transformation.Werewolf By Shawn P Cassidy He’ll stand on a mountain in the dead of night, Facing the ghosts he’s too tired to fight. The moon is full--it awakens the pain, The beast inside him breaks its chain. His mind is clouded, his thoughts collide, The man he was begins to hide. The demon within now claims his soul, A hunger to feed, he can’t control. He screams in silence, his torment unseen A war between what is and what has been. His flesh burns hot, his spirit cold, A story of fury that’s never told. His eyes turn crimson, his heart turns black, There’s no going forward, no turning back. Fingers curl, conscience fades, He’s trapped inside the thing he made. The beast devours, the man decays, Lost in the echo of his own dark ways. Howls and screams--his nightly refrain, The carnage he leaves is his inner pain. Stay clear of his shadow, don’t heed his cries, For the monster you fear… is the man who hides behind his eyes. © 2026 Shawn P. Cassidy. All rights reserved © 2026 PAPPACASS |
