Then, will I believeA Poem by PAPPACASSA poem of sarcasm, doubt and disbeliefThen And Only Then, Will I Believe By Shawn P Cassidy When the night-watch calls and souls collide, and heaven and hell no longer divide, when angels fall where demons grieve, then-and only then-will I believe. When man and creator share one breath, and faith outlives the fear of death, when prophets speak without deceit, and mercy stands where hatred meets. Gentile, Muslim, Christian, Jew, each heart reborn, each spirit new, when nations bow not to creed or power, but to the fragile truth of a peaceful hour. When violence fades like a dying flame, and no one remembers hatred’s name, when madness yields to what hearts conceive, then-and only then-will I believe. When gods grow weary of mortal cries, and strip the veil from human lies, when chaos kneels and shadows leave, then-and only then-will I believe. © 2026 Shawn P. Cassidy.
