I’ve Had This Feeling Before

I’ve had this feeling before'' I recognize the pain,

A torture in the heart that forever will remain.

It lingers in the mind, it corrodes the human soul,

Shattering trust in pieces too scattered to be whole.

It’s been hunted and questioned since the dawn of time,

Across oceans they sailed, up mountains they’d climb.

Chasing the torment that hides in our dreams,

Under moonlit nights, over rivers and streams.

Roses and promises dressed up as fiction,

Sweet-sounding lies that feed the addiction.

Fairytale wishes that never come true,

Begging for honesty in “I love you.”

I’ve felt this before'' I know the refrain,

This feeling called love

that drives me insane.
