Flood

Flood

A Chapter by Kathryn Smith

Dear Sean,

I was just talking to a friend about how strange things get when I travel.

When I go to Ireland, it never rains.

The sun comes out and the heat spikes up.

Droughts happen, records break, and it's glorious! (Well for some people.)

In early June after I left Ireland, a friend of mine begged and pleaded for me to return to Dublin.

Apparently the week I touched back on US soil, the clouds returned to your homeland.

And it rained...and rained...and rained..and rained.

Dublin itself became badly flooded.

Sometimes I like to think the Gods above were crying that I left..

Or perhaps it was you.

I hope you are safe.

I hope you are well.

Love you.

Your girl on earth,

Kathryn
