Cunning FateA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenCunning Fate
Arachnid like you lay in wait. Your lair, carefully cultivated, awaits your groom. Three times you have struck To devour still warm flesh; Death not pronounced And yet you spring your trap. Sweet sticky mucus enwraps your easy prey With an awesome poison; Paralysed to surrender, you drag another victim Helpless in your loins To the cunning fate you choose.
