Sanctury

Sanctury

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Sanctuary

Not one flicker of hope;

So devoid of emotion

And compassion,

A cold compress of revenge.

The silence has me crushed.

Twelve days and nights,

A life sentence pronounced

And no cause for appeal.

Am I to be your prisoner?

A probationary community sentence

Till I am truly reformed

Or sent back to jail.

How can true passion be so

Unless built on melting ice?

Anger? I think not

Fear of me? Not cause enough.

Cold inner withdrawal the truth.

An ability to bury emotion

And hide away

Behind the psychological castle walls

In the sanctuary you have created.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
