Strangers

Strangers

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Strangers

How quickly, we who have been intimate

And shared so much closeness

Become strangers.

We move from the generosity of love

And kindness, understanding and hope

To suspicion and hate.

This defence allows us to survive

And cope with the seismic rift

Of a broken love.

Something we thought would last forever

But suddenly and catastrophically

Became a fatality.

Another statistic to add to the rest

Of the morbidity data of life.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
