In The Shallows

In The Shallows

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

In the Shallows

In the shallows of my mind

I wallow in the shameful pity

that life has shown me.

I paddle in the breaking foam,

bare feet wet in sinking sands,

but knowing from here I cannot drown.

I kick the spray as if in play

but in my heart is cold cruel anger

at how shallow life can sometimes seem.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
