HopeA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenHope I have a cancer in my heart; a growing viscous tumour, that threatens to crush my soul. I stand in the idolatry of bitterness listening for even the smallest sound, the slightest whisper. Yet I would irradiate these thoughts and for the cheapest cost. I am ready to accept cure; to have the high surgeon operate, put his hand into my open wound and slice out this pregnant lump. For I will not stare at death, not while I still have hope. 5th April 2010 © 2012 John Alexander McFadyen |
