Hope

Hope

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Hope

I have a cancer in my heart;

a growing viscous tumour,

that threatens to crush my soul.

I stand in the idolatry of bitterness

listening for even the smallest sound,

the slightest whisper.

Yet I would irradiate these thoughts

and for the cheapest cost.

I am ready to accept cure;

to have the high surgeon operate,

put his hand into my open wound

and slice out this pregnant lump.

For I will not stare at death,

not while I still have hope.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
