Vengeful

Vengeful

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Vengeful

I plunge my hands

deep into the belly

of the sky

and turn the Earth

blue with asphyxiation.

My rage is purple

and hot

and dark,

with death for comfort,

and revenge as a companion.

Why my God

has life forsaken me?

Thank God your anger isn't as powerful as this! I can relate to your (hopefully transient) sense of disappointment in the world, though. Wonderfully expressed, well done.

No it is simply an expression of what I have perceived rather than something I own. A poetic licence.. read more
That extreme feeling, a kind of revenge, is never sweet, neither is life.. but, we all need to blame someone .. God has more strikes against Him than most. Your poem screams in agony rather than rage. There's a need to calm you after reading this, because although superbly created, i have to say, 'shhhh, go look at the clouds.'

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
