Desperate To KnowA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenDesperate to Know When we fall there is the rush; the pure adrenaline of wanting of desire, of complete happiness; of lust. We rise in triumph through the stages from engagement to complete fulfilment. Then we collide like stars and fall away so far, so fast. To go from such joyful discovery, descending, plummeting at speed, tearing the heart of romance clean from our souls. It took much longer to build than to demolish, like a house brick by brick erected and felled by the wreckers ball in a few crunching, crushing blows. The confusion in our minds at the sudden change, leaves such naked uncertainty and question after question unanswered as we claw at the flesh of truth desperate to know why the love that once was so precious has died. 25th February 2009 © 2012 John Alexander McFadyenReviews
