My Reflections

My Reflections

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

My Reflections

I close my eyes:

lids pressed tight

fighting to quell

the ricochet of voices

echoing in my head.

Each voice tells a tale

of memories,

losses and hurt

I would rather forget.

Past times gone forever

but whose jackboot print

is deep embedded

in the thick mud

of my swirling thoughts.

Why they haunt me

I know not,

for here I sit

master of all I survey,

in control of my own destiny.

Thank you Mandy
It's like Peyton Place on WC lately *laugh* Go to review and inadvertently get tangled up in the middle of something *ahem*

Meanwhile...I really like this piece, John; seems you're turning the corner into acceptance. Such a good use of your imagery skills. Jackboot print in the thick mud of thoughts...really creative. Well done, sir.

I'm leaving now *laugh* Please carry on...

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
