A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

In Search

You didn’t ask to read my poetry,

I wasn’t that interesting to you;

just a passing phase.

A surrogate for you to use

to test your plight.

Expendable,

no intrinsic value.

Simply a moment, an hour, a day

for you to fill with me

to give you hope.

So I was just an exam to pass

as you move on to higher learning

and wage war with your soul

in search of your true identity.

John...every time I think I've read your best work, you go and post one more...This is truly one of my favorites, because it hits home for a lot of us, I think...we are so protective of our work, sometimes even secretive, but when there is nobody to take an interest in the one thing in our lives without which we would wither and die, we feel incredibly slighted--even if the day with us was spent being thoroughly used *laugh* The ultimate plea to love us for our brains, not just our bodies. (My take, anyway...) Exceptional write.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
