Madness

Madness

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Madness

My psychosis has no bounds,

for that

I make no apology!

Why should I be shackled

by earthly convention

when I can live my every thought

and each delicious delusion,

and leave this tainted world behind?

Why should I deny my own mind

when it sees with exact precision

the persecutors who pursue me.

When it allows my escape

to happier, albeit false, beliefs

I am Jesus!

The SON of God

And I am free from sin!

:-) re read and gotcha, what better person to be than Jesus himself
Illusions of grandeur sometimes provide that blissful escape from the dull colorless reality. We all are mad in that we do delude ourselves to some extent, somewhere. We have to, to keep sane. A paradox. An irony. And a great question...Why should we not? No apologies!

Ha! Soweto are I agreement dear Divya. Many thanks
So true that for some its a far happier place to live within their delusions, for reality can be a harsh place.

Those who see self as Christ feel Him in their heart, but confuse and think they're the Savior. Divine Madness I believe. Excellent read and write.

No it is about mental illness. Many psychotic individuals see themselves as Christ. Thanks Sheema
I understand that this is your creative mind at work and it is normal for man to think this, but I would have to disagree and we'll leave it at that.

Sin itself is a relative issue and with every logic of world sin can be transformed to be a deed of virtue! I liked how you have described precision of the mind! Great work John :)

I find this poem very intriguing and I love the amalgamation of madness and religion. It sort of brings to mind the customary "movie villain monologue" but with a somewhat sinister twist. Very interesting!

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
