The Picnic That Never Happened

The Picnic That Never Happened

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

The Picnic That Never Happened

I spread my cloth

upon the soft grass.

Laid out the feast

at your feet

for us to savour.

But you never came

and sat upon my tartan rug,

you walked away,

someone else’s favour.

I know, if I was in GB I'd buy you a pint and a shot to go with.
Wow, John. This is so emotional and heart breaking, I just wish she came to that picnic! :-(

Another great write from you. Well done.

Anytime, kind sir.
And you said you don't like rhyming poetry. This was nice, another sad piece but nice.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
