Tears for Mandela

Tears for Mandela

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Tears for Mandela

Mandela will die

and sharp sobs of pain

with flood the Earth.

The Saint of Africa

has taught us not

to focus upon the self,

not to mourn the challenge

of our own sacrifice,

but to wear resilience

as a cloak of hope,

a shining golden cape

from which true love

will pour.

Real wealth is paid in the coins

of tolerance and reconciliation

and true regard of our fellow man.

Long live the legacy of a real Giant.

I will spill tears when you succumb

but they will be tears of thanks

for having know your gracious majesty.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
