Returning the RainbowA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenReturning the Rainbow I am so sad to have draped your heart with tears and to have caused your gentle soul such pain. If I deprived you of love then I am a fool, no greater fool would see you wilt, gasping for air and drained of the hues your beauty radiates across this Earth. And that you held fast your faith in love is little short of wonder and tells me the true depth of your adoration. It cries to me from your very core that I am at last in the light of the woman for whom I have yearned. So I will return the colour of the rainbow to your skies with passion and devotion beyond compare and I will pledge myself to thee more certain than the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon, clearing the crystal waters of your tears.
