Longing looks

Longing looks

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Longing Looks

Some women are too beautiful.

Our eyes meet across the space

that separates our earthly forms

but you are too young,

too beautiful to be true.

I watch you and see

the pettiest woman here

but caution tells me

the ring you wear

would be my albatross yet again.

Your poise is sweet,

your face divine,

framed in a cascade of silky hair.

Your smile is captivating,

your figure exquisite

your laugh intoxicates

as you tease with your demure and inviting glances

and we both welcome the thrill

of this intimate encounter.

But those feelings are merely

the emptiness in us

that yearns to be filled

and we were never destined to be

more than a passing glimpse.

Sounds like a moment, do you ever wonder where that glance could have taken you....if she's so young, why is she wearing a wedding band...and can you a woman be too beautiful? Just saying.... :)

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
