Sweet SurrenderA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenSweet Surrender When I met you the dream began. It entered my nights warm with promise and delirious desire. It filled every moment of my waking day with hope and the humility of belief and the innocence of childlike trust. Trust in a time and place for you and I, awakened from our slumber to give one another unconditional love
and live free among the green sided fjords of our deepest fantasy. I was free to feel again as the anaesthetic of past pain wore off and the numbed nerves of my soul sprung back to life. I expanded with joy into a universe filled with stars and stretched my limbs and renewed my faith in love. I had no need for pretence, no need to hide, no cause for fear; just the tenderness of complete and sweet surrender.
