Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Sweet Surrender

When I met you the dream began.

It entered my nights

warm with promise

and delirious desire.

It filled every moment of my waking day

with hope and the humility of belief

and the innocence of childlike trust.

Trust in a time and place for you and I,

awakened from our slumber

to give one another unconditional love

and live free among the green sided fjords

of our deepest fantasy.

I was free to feel again

as the anaesthetic of past pain wore off

and the numbed nerves of my soul

sprung back to life.

I expanded with joy

into a universe filled with stars

and stretched my limbs and renewed my faith in love.

I had no need for pretence,

no need to hide,

no cause for fear;

just the tenderness of complete and

sweet surrender.

Sigh, delirious desire, and surrender, what could be better? This is such an exquisite sentiment, you've certainly awakened me from my slumber.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
