Thank you for the TragedyA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenInspired by the quote from Kurt CobainThank you for the Tragedy I need it for my art said Kurt Cobain it paints the lonely sad melodies in my heart. I need it for my art said the poet It feeds the agony in my mind and inks my sorry pen. I need it for my art said the sculptor it guides my chisel’s path over cold marbled stone. I need it for my art said the novelist It gives my plot a sorry hook to ponder. I need it for my art said the journalist it fills front pages and sells the daily news. I need it for my art said the priest it subjugates and helps my flock to keep the faith. I need it for my art said the despot it controls my people and keeps my enemies in fear.
