Not as We

Not as We

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We have faith or we do not!

"

Not as We

Shockwaves hit the moon,

split the stars asunder,

drove the sun to sink eternally

into the permafrost

of a lonely arctic winter.

Lightning bolts struck down

all the creatures of the earth

and shrivelled each flower, plant and tree

to carbon ash;

ashes to ashes.

And now nothing exists,

and there is no existence.

You crossed to the dark side again John, a frosty one, faith in love frozen asunder.

Yes, blame all those ice maidens my Lady! Thank you.
I was watching something on the history channel the other day, of what would become of the world and everything in it, if mankind ceased to be. It gave incredible accounts to hundreds of years, and the ramifications were astounding. This poem reflected that, for me. Awesome work, John!

In this case a world without love. Thank you Kelly.
well, isn't this another side of this multifaceted writer... this one felt darker but still had your sparkle in it even if dimmed... ((hugs)) to you... feel the desperation in this one... the frustration... and the small amounts of hope that still remain.. hold on to them... ((hugs)) my friend...

haha!!! do your worst!!! :P
Despite my questioning nature, I kind of think as humans we are built to have faith in something. Even Atheists have faith in the fact that there is nothing.

Ah but this is about the religion of love not God 'M'. Many thanks.

As I said, everyone has to believe in something.:)
this reminds me of the idea behind Frost's "Fire and Ice"

and this is how it would end in ice...so we better have faith...that will warm us when there is an end.

Thank you Jacob and let us hope.
Such a beautiful planet we have been gifted; ye so sadly it may well come to be that in the end nothing will exist. There just doesn't seem to be enough faith to go round.

Beccy.

My profile has been set recently because my employer detests honesty but we live in the same county!
Despite the apocalyptic sound of this poem, a feeling of great love and sadness comes across, excellent work John.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
