Passionate Writes

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Just a bit of fun!

Passionate Writes

I sacrifice many poets upon the altar of critique,

plunging my sharpened dagger

deep within the swollen, visceral breasts

of their anaemic emotion.

I am a raging evangelist

out to rid the earth and its ethereal sister

of tepid verse.

Let your pen spit fire.

Have a rage of anger in your voice

that lifts us from our languid torpor.

Pulls us ever closer to the super-heated magma

at the very core of creation,

where the melting can begin.

Where fire scorches the flesh

from the very bones of poetry.

Let your words of love be roasting hot,

dripping in wet desire

that soaks the page in the sweat

of ardent, urgent penetration.

Let it be a boiling cauldron

of lust

and not a damp squib!

right. poetry should have emotions, but balanced too with thought and perspective, so I share the half of your views..I read too many poems that are just feelings, that make them
obscure, so ( my POV) you need a frame, observations !

No I do agree dear Leslie and your poetry does just that.
Your words of love are like a "funeral pyre"...love your vocabulary choices in this one!

Thank you so much Kelly.
I loved the humor in this one. We don't need no tepid verse at the Writer's Cafe! Only the most emotional...or steamy....will do. This tickled me. Lydi**

Here here, slash and burn, take all but the angriest, funniest, steamiest down! Seriously, John, nice when you let your funny side shine through.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
