No Return From DeathA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenWhen love eludes you again and again......................................No Return from Death A dreary dirge hangs in the fugue of the dreich day as my soul forgets that it once was nourished. My optimism starved by those who offered hope only to steal those dreams with soft ethereal hands; leaving the cold to penetrate through these thin rags of belief, that I, a beggar for love, had scavenged from heaven. The frost invades my core now, leaving me numb, afraid and alone, feeling the empty howl of the north wind’s breath upon my rotting corpse.
