Sanity/InsanityA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenWe hold on as long as we may.Sanity/Insanity In spite of everything, or perhaps because of it, I am happy to be here. I have grown resilient to falling through the cracks; to taking the knocks life has dished out in my direction. Still it leaves me sad, even morose from time to time, moment to moment; and I can turn on a sixpence. One minute feeling buoyant, full of hope, and the next sliding into the abyss at the merest whiff of insincerity. A place where I will tear the throat from monsters, and tilt at the windmills of perceived deceptions. It is a brutal dark place to inhabit and I would sooner walk upon the surface of the earth, breathing the sweet air of life, for I am happy to be here.
