Clouds

Clouds

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A Grey day

"

Clouds

Why does the sky seem so oppressive

at times? Why does it seem on days

like today to press down and

smother the earth?

To stifle my screams and

steal the breath from my soul,

leaving my spirit deflated?

Perhaps I have offended a

higher power or simply this

is the preordained path I

have to follow.

Today the sky is lead,

it is deep with impenetrable

doom. All shades of grey from

white to black.

It pretends to be a blanket

but gives no warmth

as it hides the sun from

my eyes and mocks

my heart.

"i've looked at life from both sides now, from up and down and still somehow, it's life's illusions i recall, i really don't know clouds, at all"

sometimes i think grey days are just meant to match our mood, not create it...although often it does create---

love that song...especially when judy collins sings it...and this poem has its very own music.

Thanks Jacob. In fact it was Judy Collins version I really was looking for! Will change it.
I have been enjoying this last offerings John something you are going through but also open enough for me to go through as well. I feeling of something opressing, a palpable darkness, a certain sense of doom looming, and although I do not share the deflation those rays of the mocking sun are around in many ways.

Thankyou.
