One True Love

One True Love

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A figment of our imagination?

"

One True Love

I give nothing

if I do not give

myself,

wholly and completely

without conditions.

Love sets no contract

and allows one to enter

it’s hallowed vaults

without expectation.

When two are as one

in this bond

true love exists.

So show me a man or a woman

who does not want

to be feted, to be eulogised,

to be respected and desired

by another, and I

will show you true love.

the more we give love, the more we deserve to receive it...when we love only with the expectations of being loved back...that is shallow...
love must be given free.

Exactly Jacob and when it is one way you are stuffed like moi! many thanks.
Find it in a book or find it in the world.

Just finding it is the rub. thanks.
Yeah, the bitter is poking out pretty bad in this one. But well done, nonetheless.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
