Total Darkness

Total Darkness

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Hope is lost.

"

Total Darkness

I see no doves

for under this leaden sky

happiness is not meant to be mine.

I have danced for decades

to the tunes that others played.

I have prostrated my earthly

self at the feet of ‘virgins’

who breathe as Sirens

with the intent of Satan’s charm.

And here I lie, buried in cold earth

that cloys upon my skin

and sucks the warmth from my soul.

The casket in which I am imprisoned

is lined with deceit

so that I may not rise up again

in sunlight’s resurrection

to feel the warmth upon my skin.

now i am working on getting it back...how better than being a vampire of sorts.
