In the Face of Love

In the Face of Love

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

If only we trusted.

"

In the Face of Love

I spend the winter of my days

hunched over my keyboard

trying to find the right words.

I have never, after decades,

learned to touch type.

And so I must look,

I must concentrate on each stroke,

consider where each finger will land.

If only life could have been simpler,

more certain, more predictable,

then I may have been bolder,

may have taken my chances,

used my instinct more.

Then my fears may not have

constrained my faith

and I may have let life

just unfold.

This is a beautiful poem. Lovely, elegant and sweet. Sometimes we allow fear to over take us... we allow fear to stop us from taking a leap of faith when we stand in front of love.

This is a beautiful, well written poem

You are very welcome...thank you for sharing! :)
i do type without looking at the keys...and your poem made me think....if only i could still live life without looking at the keys, having to be so careful...

but alas...those days are gone...tap tap tap.

Indeed Jacob. Wish I could touch type and like you touch life with the same certainty. Many thanks.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
