Dirty LaundryA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenPeople who lose partners to death are better off than those who lose them to relationship breakdown.Dirty Laundry My life has been a domestic cycle, Spotless brand new clothes, pristine levis and ‘T’ shirts with sharp fast colours, unpacked from carrier bags now long discarded. Wear them wash them, wear them wash them until the day you realise they are no longer fit for purpose, and unless you buy new ones everyone will look at you and wonder why you stuck with them when you have your own home and a decent car on the drive. So you go and fill another carrier bag and the cycle begins again; for me too many times. And the old clothes? Stuffed in a drawer of memories to wear in the garden or when doing dirty jobs. I wish I could burn them but I can’t.
