Lamenting winters cloakA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenLeslie got me thinking of how much I hate winter!Lamenting winters cloak The dank dampness seeps into my bones through wet boots. My fingers, covered in leather, still crystallise as brittle useless claws and the days, blunted at each end in darkness, drag my soul into the abyss. There to await the rekindling, the rebirth of hope born from skin unwrapped and gently warmed, as life returns to earth in glowing fields of springtime. Until then I will withdraw and curtail life itself, as I lament winters cold cloak from deep within the resentment of my hibernation.
