Sad Ending

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Nothing more to say!

Sad Ending

I sit naked

with my poetry

as the sun

begins to invade

the cool of dawn.

I am stripped

of all pretence,

my emotions exposed

like shards of cold jagged glass

as I try to avoid the pain.

Today little comfort

comes from words,

they seem empty phrases,

devoid of hope.

No soothing friendship

will heal me,

or my heart,

now love has gone.

poetry, the "chariot that bears the soul" (e. dickinson)

your poem reminds me of her poem "no frigate like a book"---

how words bare our soul...the way we strip our emotions to the core by writing it all down and sharing----they all can see deep into what we are....poets.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
