Why Are We Here?A Poem by John Alexander McFadyenWhy is life so cheap? Why Are We Here? I used to love, I had dreams of a world where feelings dictated beauty, where emotions drove the hearts of men. Where right won wars and the weak triumphed. Where the hungry were fed and the thirsty slaked. Where disease was fought and inequality slayed. But now my eyes are dark as the reality of hate tears the soul from my chest and I see the greed that feeds mankind and drives such selfish desire.
