Reality

Reality

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

What is life?

"

Reality

The beauty of perfection

cannot be denied,

and yet perfection

cannot exist

for in reality

it is a simple perception.

A human construct

built upon the fragility

of man’s preposterous

ambiguity.

His inability to separate

right from wrong,

truth from fiction,

fantasy and dream

from solid reality.

His inability to understand

and control the universe

and to make it

in his own image.

His need to see

what he chooses to see

and to judge it so.

Managing perceptions is so much more difficult than managing reality.
Perceptions are sometimes more honest than what we think is reality, because it's how others see us.
It's all about Optics in life... I love that song btw.

Yes I agree, thanks Ana
we didn't make ourselves in our own image...someone else made us...and we certainly have ended up with a skewed version of perfection...

nicely done.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
