Hope Remains

Hope Remains

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Love will come.

"

Hope Remains

I have often sat by the wishing pool,

watching the sun setting

through rainbow skies

and waiting for the stars

to appear.

I have felt the creeping chill

of winter,

pushing autumn to her doom

as the frost bites

into my silent soul.

And yet,

I have been content enough

to await another spring.

You make the most ordinary of words, extraordinary. I am convinced you are the poet of poets!

And you made me weep with such a beautiful accolade as I do not at all feel worthy of such praise.
Without hope we have nothing. There will always come a spring and we should enjoy them while they are here. Though, in a heart in love, spring is eternal I believe. Nice uplifting piece John.

Ha my insiration is King Robert of Scotland (Robert the Bruce). Thank you Lydi!
A hopeful commentary… it could be on the changing seasons, on aging, on love, or just any aspect of life changes.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
