LaineyA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenA new year..............Lainey If love be true then it is given with an open heart, offered with open hands, breathed in words that paint the skies and let two souls connect in the safety and warmth of mutual respect and honesty. If love be good then it flows like silk across fragrant skin, it has no rough edges or barbs upon which to snag sweet hope and shatter earnest and simple dreams. If love be given in good faith it has no walls to scale for it has open doors through which the breeze of trust may pass as a welcome zephyr. When I spoke to you you offered all of this to me without restraint, and so I kneel before you and accept your kiss and return it with devotion.
