The Reaper

The Reaper

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Love leaves scars!

"

The Reaper

I sup from the bitter alcoholic

memories of pain

as I try so hard to reclaim

the composure I once enjoyed.

The strength I once had

from the exercise of humility

that was such a pure emotion

that I now die a Catholic death

each and every sorry day

from the wounds love's blunted scythes

have carved into my flesh.

Powerful write John. How one is blackmailed and scarred either by guilt or to sustain love. Well versed as always John. Powerful statement!

Cheers Andrew.
that catholic guilt stuff...it can eat away at the flesh of our conscience.

Indeed Jacob. Many thanks
Love's affairs or the searches have not treated you well. A lot of your contemporaries know your pain but, have no balls to talk their pain. Takes courage to fail and still talk the game of Love. Eventually, we win if we keep our eyes open and our sensibilities tuned. The one is walking toward you as I write this positive review. Be keen, be ready, and screw all the naysayers!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
