Malt

Malt

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Malt

Glendfididch sparkles

in then sun

as I raise my glass

and slide into the extraordinary

spread of life

that broken promises have left.

There I am soaked

in the amber presence

that all is well

and I will be

whole again.

A wonderful toast to the single malt. Yeah, I have a thing for poems about booze. Nicely done. ~Jim

Kelly you are so generous; thank you.
Like a wave of satisfaction and contentment, very nice. 'Amber presence' is a very nice choice, you've caught the beauty in how light passes through whiskey unlike any other spirit. Great stuff!

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
