I Chose

I Chose

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

An attempt at Chaucerian Rondel

"

I Chose

I chose your tender love to keep me warm

laid my weary head upon your breast

and was glad that we two did exist.

When bitter winter came with raging storm

I reached out when I saw you through the mist

I chose your tender love to keep me warm.

And I promised to shelter you from harm

so that you would never again be sad

and now your sweet heart makes me oh so glad

I chose your tender love to keep me warm.

This is a really sweet piece, John. Conjures images of on the floor, by the fire. I'm not particularly educated on the Rondel form, so I'll look it up. Keep it up!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
