Forces of Destruction

Forces of Destruction

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Love given then taken!

"

Forces of Destruction

I am but broken at last,

my resilience worn thin.

I have survived so many storms,

hurricanes that swept

with vengeance

through the pastures

of love that I have ploughed.

But you were that super tornado,

the one that wrenched my roots

from the earth.

The one that tore up

every fragment

of my soul

and cast it unto

the four winds

of doom.

Sorry to hear that. It is not a feeling I would wish on anyone. Thank you for reading it though.

good to see you are standing tall my friend :D
It's what happens when the one to whom we have entrusted our hearts and souls leave us or shatter that love somehow. I know this destructive force all too well. An intense write, John.

You are not alone, John... you are welcome.
This reminded me of the oft mentioned scientific phenomenon - the 50 year wave. That one wave that decimates a shoreline. A shoreline which has changed little - rode out storm after storm but then can be dramatically altered by the wave of waves. A terrible thing to experience.
Great metaphorical writing John.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
