Short Cuts to Spring

Short Cuts to Spring

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

As it says

"

Short Cuts to Spring

Cut

Nothing like a new

mown lawn of sweet verdant grass

to walk bare foot on.

01/05/15

Spring

The perfume of blossoms

hang in the sun

giving fragrance to life.

01/05/15

Darling Buds

Colours burst forth

as if the race is on

to cover the earth

in splendour.

01/05/15

Stirrings

The sun warms the earth,

shakes her from her

deep hibernation,

awakening her desires.

01/05/15

Buzz

The bees get busy

gathering,

pollinating,

giving life to fruit.

01/05/15

Thank you so much Alf
what a pleasant array of freshly mowed haiku and tanka to bring spring to bear...and it is finally here...certainly it took no short cut to get here...it took the long way around....

nicely done.

What a lovely string of poetry...tanka? Not sure of the form, but they put me in a happy sunny mood. Wonderful work, John. Lydi**

A great bouquet for Spring and I liked the collection's title very much. Those kinds of plays appeal to me a lot. Sensuality is brought to bear in subtle ways here John. My favourite is Spring, it has a lot going on in such a short piece. Bravo my friend. Love this ensemble.
