Qawra Morning

Qawra Morning

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Bliss does exist

"

Qawra Morning

I am in no rush

as I slip gratefully

into the laid back

breasts of Malta.

I sit on the balcony,

coffee in hand,

and listen to the day

stirring.

A dog barks somewhere in the distance,

birds chirp gleefully overhead.

Soft music seeps

from the flat across the road

and a pepper of voices

float upon the serenity

of mornings whisper.

And I am mellow

in the arms of

the rising sun upon my skin

as it slowly

and majestically floats

over the Mediterranean.

Here I am at peace

with the world.

Here are the carefree days

I have dreamt of.

Here I may find myself

and my soul.

Ok! John rub it in, how tranquil. peaceful your holiday was carefree, enjoyed, so ever lasting, troublesome free while we toiled at our labours in sweat with time achingly, slow, torturous while you relaxed and plotted your next good write as this!!! Such treachery amongst poets on the Malta seas on holiday, loving life!! :):)! Good on you my Matey!!

fantastic!
John, I have never been to Malta. I have been to France, Italy, Greece, and the Greek Islands. But you brought me to Malta with this piece. This is the kind of poem I try to right and you did so well with this one. You were very vivid in this piece and it brought me to the place you describe so well... I know you remember that moment so well drinking that coffee on the balcony at peace. I have many of memories of similar places. Well done John.

You are welcome...:)......................
You brought the reader right along with you John. Excellent writing and just the escape from a biting cold Belfast wind.
I hope you and your soul were reunited in Malta. If not there (judging by this painting in words) then where...?
I liked this very much my friend.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
