The Food of LoveA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenA taste once upon the lips to poison all reason. The Food of Love If love be this then I am forsaken for I have not the strength to resist and will be pulled to earth by your gravity. There I will shatter on impact like stained glass in a rainbow shower of shards. I will be putty, and your hands will kneed me. Like dough I will rise in your warmth until I am baked for your consumption. And as you break bread, washed down with the wine of my rouged corpuscles, my spirit will flow into the deepest recesses of your soul.
