Searching

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

The mystery eludes me.

"

Searching

The sum total of my divinity

resides within insanity.

The place to which I flee

and where I can be

myself.

A tragic drowning pool

where only sadness rules

and I am but a knave

with no control of waves.

There I sink in excrement,

suck upon a Polo Mint

to dull the taste

of such toxic waste.

Yet it is a safe place

where only I can pace

myself.

So no rescue required

for I have retired

from a world where fate

has left me only hate.

And there is the rub

the actual nub of the matter

as I seek my own soul.

Yes and sometimes it is a refuge and at others the darkest hole of hell. Thanks WM
Wow I think I have lost myself somewhere.Yet,i know clearly the place where i have been residing all these years.Insanity takes a toll on me.Yet,i am very much sane when i know how fate has ruined my life.
Umm........this is a hard-hitting writeup,Makes us question about our own existence.It's indeed,mysterious.
Good job:)

I think we writers have a large measure of introspection in-built. Many thanks FCB.
Beautiful writing. I find myself searching for myself most all the time. Analyzing and re-examining my life. Of course much of the searching is now done based on the question of how did I survive this long. Great work with great imagery. thanks

Thank you Willard, we will someday stop asking.
John! Thankfully I didnt read this on an empty stomach with that image of eating mints to try to combat the taste of the waste - strong, putrid and appropriate for a write of this dark magnitude.
If we are passionate on one swing of the pendulum we cannot hope to avoid the same intensity on the other swing.
Good emote.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
