Shining ArmourA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenDeflected loveShining Armour I am but eclipsed by the knight in shining armour to whom you would trust your soul. He who has not endured such blatant faithlessness but who will hold your faith. He who has not had to rise from the ashes of your mother's destruction, wrecked beyond my sad demise, to raise the fruits of love once borne alone. Two infants from her loins, my sad legacy as you thrice deny me. But no matter, for in your genes you were born. And I am but forgotten as the sun and the moon and into the darkness you will cast my memory, leave me to wither upon the vines of disdain as the swan of your adoration swims free and you follow her star. Oh the juxtaposition of the knave and the knight!
