Propagation

Propagation

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Propagation

I will not bend to the will of Satan anymore

for in me now is the will to resist her taunts.

I have built a barricade of confidence

against which to defend my honour

and the honour of mankind.

Decades of decadence and intransigence,

bred from a culture of greed and self-aggrandisement,

of self-depreciation and doubt, have dominated.

But now I am a better man for your love.

What you have given me is real;

it has no pretence, no false walls,

only the innocence of brutal truth

and the sweet compost of flourishing growth

in a fragrant world.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies, we don't need Satan to help!!

dear John... To discover your poem "Propagation"
is a blessing... now that we have an election that
is a difficult choice. However, your poem sheds light
on the possibility of redemption. One of my favorite
quotes may be from Shakespeare... "Although you have
none, obtain a virtue". This says so much and is free
for the taking. truly, Pat

You got an immediate cheeky smirk at 'her taunts' following Satan. Love has so much power, it can destroy us or bring our finest hours to fruition. Well done crack. :)

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
