Writing Frenzy

I am so misunderstood,

I'm in a writing mood

yet you call me manic,

but do not panic,

I am still quite sane.

Its simply that my brain

is in overdrive

helping me survive

inspiration,

desperation.

Floods of food for thought

that get inextricably caught

in a bottle-neck jam

disrupting the calm

that once resided

in this much derided

head.

Hi
I like the frenzy of it all, but it still holds to loose rhyming patterns that seem to say the sanity is still there.

Indeed! A very apt description of being in that writing zone when words and ideas combine to give birth to a poem.

It is indeed a frenzied state of mind, the need to grasp the words and channel them into a straightforward piece of work. I am sure all of us on cafe can relate to this feeling.

A nice piece; well expressed and true to life.

Indeed Ron, many thanks!
sixth line should be "It's simply"--

but wow, love this...they may call us manic...but there is no panic because for some of us writing just comes this way...the bottle-neck is finally uncorked and we write in bunches...like Frank O'Hara used to...we have no control...but only in a writing way...not one that would harm anyone...

yet we do get derided for being crazy artists...we are only crazy in how nuts we are about poetry.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
