DeathbedA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenLife is so very short!
Deathbed
The bitter taste of regret coats my dry, furred tongue as it sits in an inert lump in my silent jaw. My hollow eyes simply stare at blank walls as I slip in wordless wheezes, from this earthly place. I plead with my departing soul that you do not consider that I am the sum of my transgressions. I am more. For I have striven to be more, and yet here I am, merely a fool with little wisdom and a bucket full of tears.
