Where Silence Speaks

Where Silence Speaks

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

An end to faith?

"

Where Silence Speaks

Brown earth,

barren as broken glass.

White smoke rising

to deceptive winds

as bright robes mask

predators.

A long road

of stony, rough cobbles

jars the spines

of those condemned

to eternal journeys

of remorseless recall.

Yet the dark stain has spread

an oily slick

across the earths pious face.

A global catastrophe

played out and

quietly exposed,

continent by continent,

bit by sordid bit,

allowing old snakes

to shed their cold, scaly skins

and scurry beneath

rocks and boulders

to avoid the crush

of justice's boot.

phenomenal allegory here...barren in so many ways, literally and figuratively with global warming, cold hearts and just power hungry executives stomping on the worker bees...

So relatable in today's dark times when nothing is left sacred by greed and corruption. Even the Vatican is not left unscathed. You convey the disillusionment of a thinking, sensitive man so completely.

You are always welcome dear John.
man! stated so subtly i feel the depths of this pain ..so many innocent lives condemned to suffering by the very "gods' that are supposed to bring forgiveness and healing ..i think you have said it as well as the best my friend .. i love the form you use .. the poetic images conjured and the very sharp satirical slashings ..applied to the right backs ... wow! nice one .. should be out there for many more to read says i! well done!!!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
